In this video, North East Peer Researchers Kaitlin, Jess and Ava tell us about the findings they gained from their focus groups with young people across the region. The main findings from the research include young people not feeling included in decision making, money being a barrier to access, there being no outlet for opinions to be heard, and the importance of youth leadership.
Looking forward, the Peer Researchers will focus on young people feeling like they are heard by wider decision makers and that those decision makers are held accountable for what young people wish to see changed in their communities for themselves and their peers.
